John M. Rees, who was born in the Welsh Neighborhood in this county, 74 years ago and was one of the most esteemed men of the community, died Tuesday evening at ten o'clock at Crawfordsville, where he moved a few years ago from the farm two miles north of Wyman. Mr. Rees was a member of the Zion Congregational church and an active attendant at all the services. His father, John A. Rees and mother, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Morgan, were among the very first settlers in this county. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Ralph, Everett and Evan and one daughter, Ethel at home. He is also survived by one brother, Roll Rees and two sisters, Mrs. Richard Jenkins of Cotter and Mrs. Hugh J. Davis, of the Welsh Neighborhood. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Zion Congregational church conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. G. Jones with interment in the Cambrian cemetery.
