Elmira Books. Elmira Huff, daughter of John and Nancy Huff was born in York Co, Penn., June 1, 1838 and died March 10, 1923 at her home in Fredonia, Louisa county, Iowa. She was left an orphan when quite young. Her three brothers Lyman W., John W., and E. S. and two sisters, Mrs. Gerlinda Bracht and Mrs. Henrietta Galbraith, all preceded her in death. She was married September 11, 1860 to John C. Books in Dauphin county, Penn. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Alice Gabriel of Louisa county, Iowa, John of Montrose, Colo., Miss Ida, who cared for her mother, during the last sixteen years since the death of the father and Abner, who died at the age of six years. She leaves to more her loss three children, one son-in-law, Wm Gabriel, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her sickness was of short duration and death came peacefully.
