This community was deeply grieved Thursday evening by the sudden death of Mrs. S. G. Martin at her home in the Louisa Center Neighborhood. Mrs. Martin was a daughter of B. F. Woodruff, whose death January 20th, will be recalled by our readers. Mary Elsie Woodruff was born near Louisa Center in this county, June 10, 1891 and departed this life March 1, 1923, at the age of 31 years, 8 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Maude Turner Woodruff. At the age of 13 years she was converted and baptized and united with the Louisa Center Baptist church, of which she has been a consistent member. She was married March 6, 1917, to S. G. Martin.

Having no children, a mother's love was lavished upon her niece, Ursula Bennett. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, S. C. Martin; her mother, Mrs. B. F. Woodruff; a sister, Mrs. James Bennett and a foster sister, Mrs. Orral D. Partinton, all of Louisa Center community besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Louisa Center Baptist church, conducted by Rev. C. E. Riddington, of Rariton, Illinois and interment was made in the Long Creek cemetery.
