Mary Wagner, daughter of Solomon and Susannah Wagner was born near Harrisburg, Dauphin county, Pa., April 26th, 1833 and passed away at her home at 7 o'clock P. M. February 22, 1923 of old age, having been confined to her bed the past four years. She came to Louisa county with her parents in 1849 and was married to Eli Henderson in 1855. To which union four children were born, three of whom survive, One daughter, Ella died in 1879. Her husband died in 1872. In 1882 she was again married to Peter Pleisch who who preceded her in death in 1907.

She was converted while young and during her entire life she manifested a fine Christian spirit. To survive she leaves three daughters, Clara Wilson, Nora Armentrout and Olive Henderson, all of Letts. Nine grand children, three brothers, Benjamin Wagner of Anita, Iowa, Solomon Wagner of Ruthben, Iowa and Wm Wagner of California. One sister, Mrs. Ellen Fitzsimmons of Muscatine, Iowa. Four sisters having preceded her in death. The funeral services were held in the M. E, church, conducted by Rev. LaMott Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Letts cemetery.
