William David Schultz was born at Robinson, Illinois, February 2, 1841, and died at his home in Columbus City, Iowa, April 27, 1922, aged 80 years, 2 months and 25 days. On the first day of January 1870 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Maiden. To this union three children were born one of whom died at the age of two years. He leaves to mourn his departure his aged companion, one daughter, Mrs. R. F. Troxel and one son, Edward B. Schultz, of Boise, Idaho. Four sisters, three of whom live in Illinois and one in Missouri also survive. Two brothers died some years ago. Also 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive.

He came to Iowa about 53 years ago where he spent the rest of his years except 13 when he lived in Missouri. Some years ago he retired from active farm work and settled in Columbus City. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Spring Run church conducted by Rev. C. L. Wilson and interment was made in the Winfield cemetery
