Page 1Word was received here of the death of Miss Edith Overholt, at Oakdale Friday evening, February 23rd. Edith Stanley Overholt was born in Columbus Junction, December 12, 1898 and was the youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Overholt, both of whom passed away a number of years ago. She graduated from the Columbus high school with the class of 1917 and later attended Iowa state College at Grinnell, one year. The following year in September she entered St. Luke's hospital at Chicago and began the nurse training course. The following Feb. she contracted the flu which left her with greatly impaired health and she was compelled to go to the sanitarium at Oakdale.
She became a member of the Central Presbyterian church in this city in girlhood She is survived by three brothers, Dan Overholt,of North Liberty and Jack and James Overholt, of Chicago. Her mother and one sister, Grace preceded her in death. The body was brought to this city Saturday evening and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. W. E. Ruston. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
