Mrs. Richard Elliott, who for 56 years resided in and near Morning Sun, died at her home Wednesday evening, October 19, 1921. She was 80 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott had the remarkable distinction of celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary with their nine children present. Since this event, which occurred in 1918, there have been three breaks in the family. The oldest daughter, Mrs. W. R. McElhinney, died November 2, 1918, the father, Richard Elliott died March 26, 1919 and now the mother is taken after a prolonged period of illness.
