Daniel Anthony was born in Baden, Germany, August 8, 1850 and died August 2, 1921, at Grandview, Ia. He came from Germany when about eighteen years of age and settled in Iowa where he has since lived. He was married to Susan Blauer on the fourteenth of January 1875. There were four children born to this union. Ana, Lela, Katheryn and Herbert, who died when about two years of age. For a time the family lived at Harper, Keokuk county, and it was here that his wife died. He was again married on December 3, 1893, to Lenora Trimble and resided in Grandview ever since. Another daughter, Osee, was born at Grandview.

He was practically a life long christian and had been a member of the Grandview Congregational church for 30 years. His health failed about two months ago and during the last few weeks he had said that he was ready to go. The funeral was held from the Congregational church. The pastor, Rev. Vater, preached the sermon and Rev. Wood also spoke.
