Page 1Mrs. Lilly Green dead.-- Lily Dale Sellers was born at Cairo, Iowa, April 18, 1874 and died at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, March 11, 1921, aged 46 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was married to Lewis N. Green, July 4, 1893, at Cairo, Iowa. To this union were born seven children, three of whom have proceeded their mother in death. Mr. and Mrs. Green lived for six years in Minnesota and for the past eleven years they have lived in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. Green united with the Methodist church at Wayland, Iowa, about fourteen years ago and she united with the Methodist church of Mt. Pleasant immediately upon moving there and has remained a consistent member. Mrs. Green has been in poor health for some years.
Mrs. Green was a good woman, trying to do the best she knew how to live a life pleasing to God and helping her fellows. She leaves besides her husband, four children, John Russell, Letha, Reece and Violet, also one sister, Mrs. W. H. Rutt, of Cairo, Iowa.
The funeral services were held from the First Methodist church of Mt. Pleasant Sunday afternoon, March 13 at 1:30 in charge of her pastor, Rev. W. R. Keesey. The body was then taken to Cairo, Iowa, the birth place of Mrs. Green where another service was held in the U. E. church for the benefit of her relatives and friends, conducted by her pastor Rev. W. R. Keesey. The interment was made in the Cairo cemetery.
