In the passing from this life of Mrs. Eleanor Marshall Sellers of Cairo on Tuesday noon of this week, there occurred the death of one of Louisa county's earliest settlers. Mrs. Seller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall having settled in Marshall township in 1837 when the deceased was at the tender age of three years. After almost eighty years of having faithfully met the struggles, hardships and victories of pioneer days, she was permitted to come to her grave in full age. "Aunt Ella" Sellers, as she was lovingly and respectfully known by her friends from the oldest down to the youngest child, had been in failing health for some time due to the infirmities of advanced age. On last Sunday early in the afternoon she suddenly became unconscious. On Tuesday at twelve o'clock she passed away very peacefully.

Mrs. Eleanor Marshall Sellers was born in Clark county, Ohio, February 9, 1834 and died in her home at Cairo, Iowa, January 2, 1917. Age eighty-two years, ten months and twenty-three days. On October 31, 1850 she united in marriage with Mr. James Newton Sellers, who preceded her in death in 1864. Mrs. Sellers was the mother of the following children: Oscar of Columbus Junction, Edward of Wayne, Nebraska; Robert, Wilson and Nancy Sellers Miller of Cairo and James Grant deceased. In addition to the children and friends, there remains to mourn one brother, John S. Marshall of Gunnison, Colorado, twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Church of God. Rev. C. L. Wilson of Columbus Junction was in charge, assisted by Rev. Geo. A. Stauffacher. Interment in the Cairo cemetery.
