Mrs. Keziah R. Robertson, one of Columbus Junction's highly esteemed citizens passed from life to the great beyond at 4:30 0'clock, Friday afternoon, November 14, 1916, after a brief illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Robertson was a daughter of Andrew J. and Nancy J. Duncan. She was born in Blount county, Tennessee, September 27, 1841 and was a little more than 75 years of age at the time of her death. She came with her parents to Iowa when she was a child six years of age and her life from that time was spent in Louisa county. On the first day of October, 1861, she was united in marriage with John Robertson, who passed away, May 8, 1886. They were the parents of ten children, six of whom survive to mourn her death. The surviving children are: one daughter, Jennie and five sons, James M. of this vicinity, Samuel G. of Morning Sun, Thomas, of Columbus City; and John G. of this city. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one brother, W. A. Duncan and one sister, Mrs. T. E. Johnston. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the Associated Presbyterian church. The funeral was held from the home at two o'clock Monday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. J. D. Masson, of Washington and Rev. S. Boyd Johnson, of Columbus City, Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
