Mrs. Margaret Hetfield one of the well known and esteemed pioneer citizens of Louisa county, died early Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Bell, on the White Way, where she has been the past six weeks, her daughter, Miss Lois, also assisting in caring for her. About two months ago Mrs. Hetfield went to Muscatine for treatment at a local hospital there and when she came home about six weeks ago she went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bell, planning to return to her own home northwest of this city. Margaret McCarney was born in Louisa county, Union township, April 12, 1848. Here she grew to womanhood and November 29, 1876, she was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Hetfield. Mr. Hetfield was killed, December 5, 1898, by a train on the crossing at Sprague and Webers.
