Mrs. Arminda Wren after brief illness died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Rawhouse, in this city, early Saturday morning, July 1, 1916. Arminda Snook was born in Ohio, February 4, 1828 and at the time of her death was past 88 years of age. Her father homesteaded what is known as the Nelson Duncan farm west of Columbus City, this was her home until her marriage in 1843 to Jacob Wren. They made their home on a farm for a few years and then moved to Columbus City until 1861 they moved to the Wren farm west of this city. This was their home until death removed the father November 7, 1879. Mrs. Wren continued to make her home on the farm until 14 years ago she moved to Columbus Junction and has since made her home with her daughter.

To them were born fourteen children, all of whom with the exception of three sons and one daughter preceded her in death. The surviving children are: George, Grant and Jacob Wren, of Sheridan, Wyoming and Mrs. Laura Rawhouser, of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Wren was a member of the Christian church. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Jones, of Kansas, and Mrs. Jeanette Scribner, of Missouri and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks. Interment was made in the Tennessee cemetery by the side of her husband.
