John Sullivan, for many years a well know resident of Columbus Junction, died at his home in this city, Sunday morning, June 4th. Mr. Sullivan had been in poor health for several years gradually becoming weaker until last fall he became bedfast with the infirmities of old age. Mr. Sullivan was born in Irland, December 25, 1837 and when a young man came to New York City. After living there a few years he moved to Wisconsin and came then to Louisa county, moving to Columbus Junction forty six years ago. His wife preceded him in death a number of years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Ella Shepherd, of Minneapolis, Mrs. Anna Breslin, of New York City, Misses Kate and Marie Sullivan at home and one son Will. Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at the Catholic church in this city conducted by Rev. Father Hauser, of Sigourney. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
