Word was received here Sunday evening of the death of Refis H. McCurley at Yankton, South Dakota, Saturday, September 18, 1915. Refis Howard McCurley was born in Mahoning county, Ohio, December 12, 1867 and came to Louisa county with his parents at the age of four years. They moved on a farm west of this city where he resided until 1910 when he moved to South Dakota. In 1913 he was taken to the hospital at Yankton, South Dakota, where he has lived the greater part of the time since. He was married March 22, 1893 to Miss Mary Pritchard and to them four children were born all of whom with the exception of one daughter, Leota, still survive him. The children are: Ethel, Lloyd and Anna. He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. H. E. McCurley, of Austin, Minnesota. The remains were brought to this city Wednesday evening accompanied by his mother, Mr. H. E. McCurley. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
