George Daniel Kallenberger was born in Bier, Germany, May 31, 1831 and departed from this life March 7, 1915 aged 83 years, 9 months and 7 days. At the age of 14 he came with his parents to America and landed at New Orleans from where he went to St, Louis and resided until he came to Muscatine, Iowa. He was united in marriage on the 21 of December 1864 to Miss Sophia Winkelmann. To this union was born seven children, Margaret, Elizabeth and Amanda, twins, Adam, Ninnetta, Anna and Daniel. Of these only two survive to mourn his death, Margaret now Mrs. Ferry Gast and Ninnetta now Mrs. John Hidlebaugh. There are 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also a host of friends. He departed with the knowledge that he was going to be with this Lord who died for him. The funeral services were held from the Ferry Gast home Tuesday morning conducted by H. Graham. Interment in the Indian Creek cemetery.
