Mrs. J. B. Kulp, a highly esteemed resident of Columbus City, died at her home there, Saturday, January 14, 1915. Elizabeth Alice Bailey was born near Washington, Iowa, April 26, 1861 and died January 14, 1915, aged 53 years, 8 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to J. B. Kulp and leaves to mourn her loss the husband, two daughters, three sons and six grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Myrtle Sturdivan of Cedar Rapids; Howard of Columbus City, Noah, Robert and Elsie at home. One son, Hilton, aged ten, having passed away five years ago. She is also survived by her father aged 91 years, and was the first of a family of ten children to pass away. The mother died forty-three years ago. In November 1894 she united with the Christian church at Columbus City and remained a faithful servant to the teachings of her Master. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Christian church at Columbus City, conducted by Rev. T. M. Balcoff. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
