The friends of Mrs. Evan Griffith in this city were saddened Tuesday to learn of her death at an early hour that morning after a short illness. Trilla Waterhouse was born in Oakland township in this county, July 10, 1896. She was the daughter of H. D. Waterhouse and at the time of her death she was eighteen years, four months and twenty days of age. She grew to womanhood at her home near this city and attended the local school until last year when she was united in marriage July 11, 1914 to Evan H. Griffith. They moved to a farm northwest of this city and were busily and happily engaged in furnishing their new home together when the death messenger summoned her away leaving the young husband alone stricken with the burden of grief and sorrow.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in this city and attended church and Sunday school whenever it was possible for her to do so. She is survived by her husband, Evan Griffith, two sisters, Mrs. Howard Pontzius, of Bailey, Michigan and Mrs. Edward Tisor, of this city; and two brothers, Willard and Ellsworth and by her father, H. D. Waterhouse. Funeral services were held this, Thursday afternoon, at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. E. C. Brooks, assisted by Rev. A. W. McBlain, of Wapello. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
