Mrs. George Lischer, a well know resident of this county, died at her home in Columbus City, Monday, November 2, 1914. Mrs. Lischer has been ill for many months but she bore her suffering patiently until relieved by the death messenger. She was born at Baltimore, Maryland, September 6, 1842. Here she grew to womanhood and on the 3rd of August 1863 she was united in marriage to George J. Lischer. They came to Iowa in 1866 moving to Columbus City. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Andrew of Wapello and Paul, of Mediapolis and two daughters, Mrs. T. E. Minor, of Wapello and Miss Sophia, at home. One daughter, Martha, died several years ago. Funeral services were held at the home at Columbus City Wednesday afternoon. Rev. C. E. Ewing of Conesville conducting the services. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
