Mrs. Maud Baker was born August 15, 1892 at Conesville, Iowa and passed away at Des Moines, Iowa, April 1, 1914, aged 22 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mulligan of Conesville. This is the fourth daughter they have lost in the past four years. She was married to John H. Baker of this place June 5, 1907. They lived a few years on the Baker homestead four miles north of Cone and then in Cone until two years ago they moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Baker was the mother of two girls, Nellie May aged six and Alta Verlee aged four and a half years. She leaves also to mourn her loss her husband, her father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Crist and Callie at home. The deceased was a good daughter, a kind and loving wife, a true mother. The funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church at Cone Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock; Rev. C. E. Ewing pastor of Reformed church officiating. The interment was in the Cone cemetery.
