Mrs. A. C. Kelly, a prominent and highly esteemed resident of Columbus Junction, died suddenly at her home on South Hill, Saturday afternoon, June 28, 1913, at one o'clock after an illness of only a few hours. She had been in her usual health until about 11 o'clock when she was taken suddenly ill. Medical aid was summoned immediately but to no avail and death followed in a few hours. Mrs. Kelly was a friend to all and her smile will be sorely missed by a wide circle of friends in this city. Elizabeth A. Moles was born in Carroll county, Ohio, March 3, 1852 and at the time of her death she was aged 61 years, 3 months and 25 days. When about four years of age she came to Marion, Iowa. A few years later she moved to Letts, Iowa where she resided until 1880 when she moved to Columbus Junction, where she made her home until her death.

On March 9, 1871, she was united in marriage to A. C. Kelly, who with four daughters, Mrs. W. L. Curtis of Columbus Junction, Mrs. E. C. Gentzler of Mattoax, Virginia, Effie and Edith at home, remain to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church of this city twenty years ago and has been a most earnest and faithful member ever since. Her father, mother, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. In addition to the members of her family there remain to mourn her death, three sisters: Mrs. Rebecca Curtis, Mrs. Mary Smith and Mrs. Margaret Snyder of Bayard, Iowa and two brothers, Hiram Moles of Des Monies and Will Moles of Bayard, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home on South Hill and were conducted by Rev. A. W. McBlain, assisted by Rev. C. E. Ewing. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
