Last Sunday morning at 7:10 o'clock occurred the death of James Lee, a long time resident of Fredonia. He died at the home of his son, Charles, and had been a patient sufferer and was confined to his bed just two weeks. He was a very kind father and neighbor. Deceased was born in Oxford, Erie county, Ohio, Jan. 29, 1837. He was married to Malisa Wilson, Aug. 29, 1863 in Valparaiso, Ind., and came to Iowa in 1864. To this union were born five children, two children with the mother preceded the father in death many years ago. Three are left to mourn his loss, Charles F., James W. and Ella May, wife of T. J. L. Curtis, all residents of this place and also 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The deceased was 76 years, 4 months and 11 days.
