Zura Vandemark, an aged resident of Columbus City, died suddenly at an early hour this morning. His wife was awakened about three o'clock and he complained of not resting well, then turned to one side and in a few minutes was dead. He was born in Luzerne county, Penna., and was about 77 years of age. Coming to Iowa in 1857 he located on a farm near Mediapolis where he lived until about three years ago when he moved to Columbus City. He is survived by his wife and one child they raised Albert Shofe. For the past thirty years he has been blind. He was a member of the M. E. church at Columbus City and served in the 15th Iowa during the Civil war. Funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at Columbus City and the body will be taken on the noon train for interment at the Old Stone church near Sperry.
