Morning Sun, February 24- Miss Mary Jane Strope was born in Fayette county, Ohio, November 17, 1838 and came to Iowa with her parents at the age of five years. She was united in marriage with Isham Thomas in September 1862. Eight children were born to this couple, four dying in infancy. She is survived by four children and her husband. Those living are Ella Harris of Wapello, Annie Duryea of South Bend, Washington; Sallie Gawthoop of Texas and Miss Louie Thomas at home. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. George Blagg assisted by the other pastors. Mrs. Thomas was almost a life long member of the Methodist church and a good wife and mother. Burial in Elmwood cemetery.
