Benjamin Tyndall, a prominent resident of Wapello, was found dead Friday morning lying along the railroad track near the town of Garland, south of Morning Sun. The body was just fifteen feet south of the boundary line of Louisa county and was taken charge of by the Des Moines county authorities. Mr. Tyndall had been to Burlington on Wednesday and coming home Thursday night it is supposed that he got off the train at Garland by mistake thinking it was Wapello. Finding his error he started to walk toward Wapello but died from exposure enroute. Deceased was born Jan. 23, 1853 and was sixty years of age. He is survived by his wife and four children: three daughters, Josie, Velma and Nellie and one son, Fred. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Sunday conducted by Rev. Blagg of Morning Sun and interment was made in the cemetery at Cairo.
