Mahala Esther Ducan Orr, wife of John L. Orr of Buffalo, Kansas, died February 24, 1907, aged twenty-three years, nine months and two days, of pericarditis. She was born and brought up in Louisa county, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Duncan. She was married December 25, 1902, since which times her home has been at Buffalo, Kansas. She united with the U. P. church in her youth and lived a consistent and exemplary member. She died in the hope of a glorious immortality. Her only trial was to leave the husband and little children, who will never experience a mother's love and tenderness. These with a host of friends mourn her loss. Little Will Max Orr, aged twenty-three months and Lester Duncan Orr, aged five days, her two children, and John L. Orr, her husband, are committee to the love and sympathy of a kind Heavenly Father. The funeral was held at the home of her father, W. A. Duncan, at 2 p. m. Wednesday, conducted by Rev. D. J. Masson of Washington, assisted by Rev. Marshall of Columbus City and was one of the most largely attended funeral ever held in that vicinity.
