Amelia Williams Colville was the daughter of the late Barstow Williams by his second wife. She was born January 17, 1850, in Columbus City township and there she was raised and educated. She married Joseph Colville January 21, 1869. The three children born to them are all living. The husband died in Monmouth over twenty years ago. The children are Fred, Grace and Bertha. The two former were here to attend her funeral, Miss Bertha being ill in a hospital at Yampa, Colorado. A sister, Mrs. Jacob Getta, of New Town, Missouri, was also present. Besides these she leaves, brothers and sisters, Dr. Wright Williams of Harris, Missouri, Warren of near Chetops, Kansas, Joseph of Kinsley, Kansas, Mrs. Lucy Strosser of New Town, Missouri and Nellie and Arthur of this place; also her step mother, Mrs. Eliza William, who lives here. Her death occurred at the home of her son in Des Moines February 2; her funeral from the family home here on the 6th. She was laid to rest beside friends in Columbus City cemetery.
