F. C. Foster's death at the Commercial Sunday evening was so sudden as to be startling. He had eaten a very hearty supper after which he took a short walk and returned to the hotel. He picked up a paper and took a seat to read it. Very shortly he was noticed to drop his paper, but those who saw it thought he had merely gone to sleep. It was soon noticed that something serious was wrong and investigation showed that life was extinct. Mr. Foster has lived here about ten years, generally connected with stock at the fair grounds or assisting his brother, S. C. Foster, in the care of horses. Had been making his home at the Commercial house for the last two years. He was born at Tipton, Indiana, in 1853, consequently was over fifty years of age but was never married. His body was taken to the home of his brother, S. C. Foster, where short funeral services were held the following day, conducted by Rev. Kendrick. The remains were taken to Monmonth, Illinois for interment. Mr. Foster was a very quiet man; very reticent had having no close companions. Was temperate and honest. He leaves two brothers and three sisters, the other brother living in Illinois. One sister lives near Monmonth, Illinois; one in Oregon and one in Kansas.
