The death of William Lowe at his home in Concord township Friday, June 8 and the manner of his taking off came as an awful shock to the entire community. Mr. Lowe was one of the most exemplary citizens of his community. Honest and above all industrious. Indeed we think him a victim of over work. Broken down, physically, it is little wonder that his mind, too, became filled with forebodings for the future and wrecked to a certain degree. He was for some time an inmate of the hospital at Muscatine, returning seemingly much better, but as we all now know, not cured. His death was a very very sad one. He leaves a wife and six children the oldest a boy about sixteen years of age. He was about forty-eight years of age. His funeral was held Sunday at Cedar Bethel church, near his home. Interment in the cemetery at that place.
