One the saddest things which it has been our duty to chronicle in a long time is the death of the two little children of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fobes, of Oakland township. The little boys, Layton, only a little past three years of age died Saturday evening at 8 o'clock and the little girl, Goldie, was just a few days past one year old and her death came at 5 o'clock Monday evening. The funeral was held at the Christian Chapel in Oakland township at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and the two little children were buried in one grave. The children had been having whooping cough for some time and then were attacked with pneumonia, which in their weakened condition soon resulted fatally. The services were conducted by Rev. Black, of Lone Tree and the funeral was a very large one. The interment was in Swank cemetery.
