Mrs. Snyder dead. Only eleven days intervened between the death of S. C. Snyder, whose demise was noted two weeks ago, and that of his aged wife, who died Saturday, January 20. Her maiden name was Harriet Southmaid. She was born in Essex county New York in March 1826. Before she attained the age of fifteen, she was married to Semour C. Snyder in the state of Vermont. They lived in the enjoyment of each others love for more than sixty years, being devotedly attached to each other all those long years. No children ever came to them and relatives of either lived nearer than Vinton, this state. One of these, a niece Miss Butterick, was present at the death of her aunt. The funeral occurred from the Summers home, where the old people had been kindly cared for during their last sickness, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. J. R. Vance. The music was furnished by Mesdames W. F. Hall and W. A. Carr and Messrs S. W. Noland and J. A. Sprague. She was laid to rest beside her husband in Columbus City cemetery.
