Mrs. Martha Kendall dead. Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maria Downs, Wapello, Wednesday evening, May 10, at 7 o'clock, Mrs. Martha Kendall. Mrs. Kendall's maiden name was Martha Fulton. She was born in Richland county, Ohio, February 18, 1835; consequently was something over seventy years of age. She came to Iowa in May m 1854, and was married, in this county, in 1858 to Hosia Kendall, near Cairo, who died at his home at the same place in 1873. Mrs. Kendall leaves two living children, Mrs. Downs and Ernest Kendall, who lives west of Wapello, five miles. Six years ago, March 5, she was stricken with paralysis and has been confined to her bed ever since, a helpless, hopeless paralytic. Her death came to her as a great relief, though during all those years she has had the loving care of her children. The funeral will occur tomorrow, Friday, May 12, at eleven o'clock, at Oakland church, west of Wapello. Interment in the cemetery connected with that church. She was a sister of C. M. Fulton of this place.
