Elizabeth Evans dead. On Wednesday afternoon, September 28, at 2:15 o'clock at the home of her nephew, Will O. Jones of the Welsh neighborhood occurred the death of Elizabeth Evans, a sister of R. T. Jones, of Cotter. Mrs. Evans was something over seventy two years of age, having been born in Lierpool, England in May 1832. She came to America with her parents when quite young, living some years in Ohio. In 18?? she became the wife of James Evans. Their home was in Minnesota some years. They subsequently moved to Utica, Missouri, when Mr. Evans died some years ago. Mrs. Evans then came to Iowa where she has made her home with her relatives and friends since. Her place of residence for two years or more has been near the home of her brother, R. T. Jones, Cotter. She had been ailing a number of months, though not considered seriously sick until a few weeks since, during the absence of her brother in the far west, her condition became such that it was found necessary to take her to the home of her nephew for better car. All was done that medicine skill and kind hands could do to alleviate her sufferings which were very severe and death was greatly welcomed by her as relief. She was taken to Utica, where she was laid by the side of her husband.
