Orono, March 21- J. T. Nolind first saw the light of day in the state of Missouri in June 1859 and closed his eyes in the sleep that knows no waking at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning, March 16, 1904. In the 70's he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Giffee in Iowa county, Iowa. To them were born six children; Henry, Minnie, William, Jennie, Jessie and Lona Ray. From 1880-1891 he was a resident of Nichols, Ia. Since that time he has resided in Orono township near the Gedney lake. He was a very industrious man and during his sickness, which was of more than a month's duration, he often expressed the desire to get well and go to work as soon as possible. His son arrived from Kennett, Mo., on March the 7th and remained with him till the end. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five children, four grandchildren and his aged mother, Mrs. Leah Nolind, all of this place, and a sister, Mrs. Nora Hinman, of Pomona, California; she being the only surviving member of the family of eight children. The funeral was held Friday afternoon. The Conesville schools were closed and attended in a body. Rev. Bolce, the pastor, preached an appropriate sermon. The interment was made in the Conesville cemetery.
