Elizabeth A. Mesha Trimble was born January 1, 1820, near Harrisburg Dauphin county Pennsylvania, and departed this life March 14, 1904, aged eighty-four years, two months and fourteen days. She came to Iowa in 1849 and has since resided in and near Grandview. In 1850 she was united in marriage to Hugh Porter Trimble. To this union were born seven children five girls and two boys. Of this number the oldest daughter, Mrs. Azelia Jane Brandon, and an infant son, George Washington, together with the father, have passed through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. The five children who survive her are Mrs. Parmelia Rebecca Lockwood, of Muscatine; John Porter Trimble, of Parsons, Kansas; Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Richards, of Friend, Nebraska; Mrs. Nancy Ellen Wagoner, of Letts, Iowa, and Mrs. Lanora Anthony, of Grandview, with whom she made her home. She was converted and joined the church nearly forty years ago. To her God and this faith she remained steadfast unto death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. H. Wood, assisted by Rev. Wilson, of Columbus Junction.
