Sammuel Wallace Atcheson dead.

Few who have been associated with Mr. Atcheson recently can realize that he is dead. He was sick about two weeks but few seemed to think that there was any danger until pneumonia set in and the end soon came. Mr. Atcheson was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, May 31, 1848; died at his home here January 17, 1904, thus being 55 years and over seven months old at his death. He came with is parents to near Columbus City when but two years old, and this vicinity always continued to be his home. In 1864, when but 16 years of age, he enlisted in the army and served until the close of the war. August 8, 1886, he was married to Miss Jennie McConnell, who with three of the nine children born to them, survive to mourn his death. the surviving children are Mrs. John Bliven of this place, Robert, of Kewanee, Illinois, and Miss Muda, who lives with her mother. The funeral occurred Tuesday, January 19, at 2 o'clock p. m., from the Presbyterian church, of which he had been a member since 1891. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. R. Vance. The button factory was closed in order that the workmen there could attend in a body.
