On Thursday last, January 7, at his home 2 1/2 miles south of Wapello occurred the death of James H. Banks, the result of an accident received in a runaway two days before and from the effects of which he never recovered consciousness. His death occurred under peculiarly sad circumstances and his family have the sincere sympathy of ll who know them. He leaves a wife, a daughter of the late Samuel Hamilton, one of the earliest settlers in the county, one of the earliest settlers in the country, two sons and two daughter, the two latter married. The funeral and burial was held at Bethel M. E. church, Saturday, January 9. (the rest of the article is missing)
