At the home of his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas in the Welsh Neighborhood occurred the death of Dan Thomas on Monday, November 24 at 11 o'clock a. m. He was the youngest of the family and besides his mother he leaves one sister, Mary E. and two brothers, John and David, to mourn his early death. He was possessed of an attractive personality and many fine qualities, by which he had gained a host of friends. He attended school at the Washington academy and ?? at the academy in Iowa City. Had he lived one month longer he would have been twenty-two years of age. He was born and had always lived on the farm where he died. His father, Dennis Thomas died three years ago. The funeral occurred on Wednesday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jenkins, assisted by Rev. Williams of Oskaloosa and Rev. Jones of the Welsh Neighborhood and was largely attended. Interment at Cambrain cemetery.
