The community was greatly shocked to learn of the sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Geo. W. McBride, who passed away at his home early Thursday evening. Deceased was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, in the year 181 and returned to that heavenly home above August 8, 1901, being 83 years, 2 months and 6 days of age. He came to Iowa in October, 1866 and resided in Muscatine county for five years. From there he came to Louisa county where he spent his last days. On the ? of September, 1845, be was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Banthom. Their union was blessed with six children, two sons and four daughters. Two daughters preceded their father to the spirit world and the other four children with their devoted mother are left to mourn his departure. ? living are John and Mrs. Rose ? Nebraska and James and Mrs. Morehead of Oakland township. Funeral services were held at the Christian Chapel, conducted by Rev. Orr of Columbus Junction. Interment at Swank cemetery.
