Mrs. Mary Auracher, a long time resident of Elm Grove township, died at the home of her son, Rev. Jacob Auracher, Des Moines, Sunday morning. The funeral took place from the Spring Run church, Tuesday at 2 o'clock, p. m. conducted by Rev. Smith, of Grandview. Mrs. Auracher's death was the result of a fall last winter, the injury developing into a case of creeping paralysis. At that time she was with a daughter in Ringold county. In April she started for her home, near Columbus City, coming by the way of Des Moines to visit her son. Here she grew much worse and was unable to proceed further. The Aurachers are a family well known in the vicinity of their home. The father almost 25 years ago leaving besides the widow, five children. These are Rev. Jacob Auracher, Des Moines, Joseph, grain dealer in Shenandoah, Mrs. Sarah Knoll, whose husband is a minister at Corning, Mrs. Lizzie Gipple, wife of J. T. Gipple, who lives on the home place and Mrs. Barbara Jones, wife of Rev. L. A. Jones of Missouri. She was a good and sincerely Christian woman and a very devout one. Besides a son and two son-in-laws engaged in the ministry, she had two brothers in the same profession. Her influence has always been for good and in her departure a mother in Israel in gone. Mrs. Auracher was born in Pennsylvania and was something over 74 years age.
