There was gloom thrown over our town and community, Tuesday morning July 12, as the news spread that Aunt Jane Stone had passed over the river of death. Sister Stone was born December 18, 1825, at Dumfresheir, Scotland, and has for many years lived near this place. She was a faithful worker in the Church of God. She leaves a dear aged companion and six children and a devoted sister, Mary Whistler, to mourn her loss. The funeral of Mrs. Stone was held last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Pleasant Grove church. Services were conducted by the pastor, Mrs. M. Sutiff.
