Mrs. Lucy Forbes was born in Meriden, Connecticut, November 13, 1807, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Fulton, February 10, 1896. She removed to Iowa in 1846, and located on the farm near Cairo, which continued to be her home until about eight years ago. Since then she has made her home with her children, a majority of the time with the family of C. M. Fulton. Her health had been poor for some months, and she succumbed to the infirmities of age after an illness of only four days. The funeral service was held at Oakland Presbyterian church near Cairo, at 11 a. m. today. She was a member of this church for many years, but last summer united with the Presbyterian church at this place. Rev. Condit of Wapello, conducted the services.
