Robert H. Todd died at his home in Columbus Junction, Iowa, July 22, 1895. Mr. Todd was born March 15, 1829, at Pittsburg, Pa. He removed to this state by boat, landing at Port Louisa in 1852. His intention at that time being to settle at Grandview, but not being pleased with that locality, he removed to Muscatine county, living there one year and then coming to Louisa county settling on the farm in Union township still owned by his relatives. Mr. Todd was married Jan. 1, 1856, to Elizabeth J. Bliven. Five children were born to them, three of whom are still living: Elmore the eldest now living in Dakota; O. S., the editor of the Safeguard and Musie, the daughter still at home. Mr. Todd was a most estimable man, quiet, unassuming, a good citizen, and a good neighbor; and a good specimen of that grandest work of God and honest man. The funeral was from his home this afternoon conducted by Rev. D. H. Fouse, assisted by Rev. S. R. Drake.
