Morning Sun, July 2 - Died on the 29th of June, Miss Lottie Izola Jarvis, aged 23 years, 8 months and 12 days. Death is always a sad messenger but especially to the young who are full of joy, hope and ambition and have not yet learned much of lifes' sorrows and disappointments, and it requires more than human courage to say "not my will" at his approach. We had been expecting it for some time and was not surprised when they said "Lottie Jarvis is gone." At the age of 13, Lottie united with the M. E. church in Morning Sun and has ever been a faithful member of the Epworth League, and while her health permitted her, was always active in its service. She has been closely identified with our public schools, having aught almost constantly since she was 18. About one year ago her friends became alarmed at her declining health and in November she went to California and as is so often the case, she hoped to be well again but that dreaded disease, consumption, would not be cheated of its victim and after a stay of four months Lottie came home to die. For the past six weeks she was confined to her room nearly all the time and suffered most intensely but her patience was wonderful and her christian resignation had a more powerful influence than many lives of usefulness. In the absence of her pastor Rev. J. K. Alexander conducted the funeral service assisted by the Epworth club.
