The following obituary is heavy damaged. I will pick out what information I can.

James Grant Freeland, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Freeland, was born at Grandview, August, 1866 and died at Courtland, Kansas, February 3, 1895. His disease was rheumatism. He grew up in the Grandview and Letts area and went to Kansas in 1887. He was in business with a brother, T. L. The remains were brought back to Letts. The funeral took place at Methodist church, Tuesday, Feb 5. the services conducted by Rev. M. J. Pusey. Pall bearers were l. U. Gipple, Charles Coder, Newton Idle, Edwin Williams, William Furnas and William Ellis. He leaves both parents, two brothers, Al of Wapello and T. L of Kansas, and a sister Mrs. W. T. Barnett of Letts. Mr. Freeland was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Lodge No. 218, Courtland, Kansas. He was laid to rest in the Lettsville cemetery.
