Last Tuesday afternoon, March 20, Frank Vaughn, eldest son of Jesse V. and Maggie Vaughn of Newport, passed away from this life into the life beyond. And none can say but that "It is best." Though so deeply mourned in the home where he was looked upon with that pride and satisfaction which so often belong to the eldest son and brother, and of which Frank was so worthy, all must feel that he has gone to a rich reward having been called to his faith and steadfast and sure. Frank's life was one we might wish all young boys to take as an example. Always obedient and more thoughtful of others than self. He will be missed not only in the home, but in the church in which he was a devoted worker. He joined the M. E. church at Bethel two years ago and has loved and served it well. The deceased was aged 19 years and 11 months. Only one week previous to his death he was taken sick with symptoms of pneumonia, while at work for his uncle Wm Walker. Two days later he asked to be taken to his home and from that time grew rapidly worse. The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon by Rev. J. C. Willitts.
