Mrs. John Tedforn died at her home in Columbus City Monday morning, January 29, 1894. She came with her husband from Tennessee in an early day. For many years they lived just north of Old Clifton. Her maiden name was Hammil. Her age was about seventy years. The funeral took place from the residence at 2 o'clock p. m. Tuesday. She was a member of the Associate church. She leaves threes sons and one daughter, these are Judge Tedford of Corydon, Iowa, Joseph and Harvey of Lenox, Iowa and Mrs. W. A. Duncan near Columbus City. One daughter and two sons preceded their mother to the spirit world. Of these, one was Rev. J. P. Tedford of Ainsworth who died about ten years ago, another, Robert, died in the army and other was J. Cal Duncan's first wife, Mrs Tedford leaves eleven grandchildren and one great child. Only three weeks since, Mr. and Mrs. Tedford very happily celebrated their golden wedding. May relatives and friends mourn the departure of this good woman, and many will call her memory blesses. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Gilkey, her pastor. The burial was at Columbus City.
