Died, November 6, 1893, Vergie H., only daughter of F. H. and J. M. Pickens, of Union township, of whooping cough. She was a bright, intelligent little girl of two years, one month and eighteen days. Her favorite hymns were " Happy Day" and "Meet me There." While sick she asked to have them sung. Funeral services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. Sage of Washington assisted by Rev. Bowen, Columbus City.
