Death of a Mother and Daughter.

The hearts of the relatives of Mr. John Curtis are bowed low with grief on account of the double bereavement which has befallen him. His wife and daughter Lizzie were both taken away from this life this morning. the dread monster death, came through its forerunner, diphtheria. Mrs. Curtis died at her home near Grandview, and Lizzie, aged 16, was visiting her sister, Mrs. W. Ingram, in Conesville. Each knew of the other's condition and was hoping to hear better news. The relatives are not permitted to visit these most sadly bereaved one, which makes the sorrow doubly deep. But the sympathy of many friends, if not expressed in actions, is extended in love to the bereaved ones. Mrs. Curtis was a sweet Christian beloved by all who knew her. She lives and aged mother, a husband .... just blossoming into fair young womanhood and "She was good as she was fair." "To know her was to love her." Mrs. Curtis died Tuesday April 5, 1891, at 4 o'clock a. m. and the daughter at six o'clock the same morning. The remains of the departed were laid to rest side by side in the cemetery at Grandview.
