Former Morning Sun Resident Dead
Mrs. Paul Griffin, 48, resident of Wapello for the past ten years, died at 3:40 a.m. Friday at Mercy hospital, Burlington where she had been a patient for five weeks. She had been in failing health since 1947.
Clara Estella Mueller was born Oct. 4, 1902 at Round Lake, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mueller. She was married Nov. 24, 1910 at Spencer to Paul C. Griffin, who survives.
The family resided at Arnolds Park before coming to Wapello. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving besides her husband are seven children, Henry Dale Griffin, of Sacramento, Calif., Elwood Paul, Crotty Alvin, Thomas Windle and Roland Leroy Griffin all of Wapello and Mrs. John Whittaker and Mrs. Alfred Whittaker, both of Oakville; nine grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Dick Brower, Burlington, Mrs. Charles Henaman of Spencer, Mrs. Bertha Wilson of Kennewick, Wash., Chris Mueller, Oakland, Calif., and Harold Mueller of Davenport.
Last rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the Dungeon funeral home with Rev. Caleb Larson of Grandview officiating. Interment was in the Wapello cemetery.
